The Colour Purple

Although bold, purple is very versatile. Mix it with greys & blacks for less of a statement look - or go all out purple to stand out from the crowd.

Hot Curves in Lace
Think boudoir and vintage-inspired for one of the season's biggest trends - lace. Shown in abundance on the catwalk ranging from a touch, to top to toe lace. Twenty8Twelve chose adorable lace sleeves, while Nanette Lepore showed lace-panelled dresses and blouses.

Party Season 08 - What will you Wear?
The weather is turning and it's time to store away those little t-shirts, shorts and all other sunny summer items - although they didn't get much use this year!
Something bound to ease the pain of moving steadily into Autumn is planning your outfits for the coming party season!
This is my favourite time of year for clothes shopping, when you can let your hair down and be a bit more daring with your choices because the aim is to wow at the upcoming balls, gala's and parties.
With the choice in plus size evening & occasion wear now rivaling that of the standard sizes it is no longer a chore for the fuller figured lady to find the perfect party piece.
Tomato red is a key trend for the party season - so why not try the maya chiffon dress, or organza prom dress - both available up to a size 34.
If you prefer something long and flowy with a bit of glitz the jewelled strap gown is perfect.
Finally, my favourite, the marianna lace sleeve dress is the perfect LBD which incorporates this seasons love of lace and was recently worn by Nikki Blonsky at the Critics choice awards.

Autumn Trend - Tunics & Trousers
I hate to say it, but the Autumn/Winter styles are hitting the shops - so before summer has even really begun it's time to start looking at your winter warmers, more importantly, what will look fab on the curvier figure.
Definitely this season's most wearable trend - pairing a tunic with trousers is guaranteed to lengthen your silhouette and create a long and lean look.
Cinching at the waist can give definition to the tunic's soft line. Keep the shape and palette simple so you can add drama with luxurious materials, from lavish fur and soft leather to bold mixed plaid. For the most flattering look make sure the tunic doesn't creep below mid-thigh.
As for the trousers - cropped or floor-skimming, flared or skinny, just make sure you pick trousers to suit your shape to really make this look your own.

Plus Size Summer Wardrobe
How are you all getting on with your summer wardrobes.I thought I would throw some inspiration out there for great summer looks in larger sizes.
I'm loving these plus size casual shorts which are great for the beach but smart enough for a spot of lunch followed by shopping - perfect! If you prefer your shorts with a little mor edge these cuffed shorts ar every sophisticated.
This white bolero shrug is a summer essential. The bolero is big news this summer and this soft stretch jersey will keep you cool while looking hot. I LOVE the puff sleeves.
This season there are loads of fab dresses available in large sizes, this colourblock dress is one of my favourites.

Maxi Dress in Plus Sizes
This summer has seen the popularity of the maxi dress continue, and why not? Who doesn't feel fabulously feminine in a long flowing summer dress.
It's not always the easiest style to find in plus sizes as the free falling cut of the maxi dress can have a very unflattering tent effect on the fuller figure if not handled well. That's not to say there aren't any acceptions...
I particularly love the maui dress which has an empire waist and fuller straps so is sure to flatter rather than drown. Another great style is the eyelet halter dress which just shouts femininity. Celebrity Plus Size Designers
The last couple of years has seen an increase in the number of celebrity designers - either going solo or designing for well known high street stores. Kate Moss, Lily Allen, Jodie Kidd to name a few - but where are the plus size celebrity designers?
Beth Ditto of Gossip has expressed her interest in working with Topshop. This hasn't materialised which is a shame as I think Beth would make a great contribution to the plus size fashion industry.
Another curvy celeb with great style is Adele, who I would love to see share her style with us.

It is now available again but in very limited quantities so if you want this fab halter dress you will have to be very quick indeed!

Fabulous Curvy Style
I am absolutely loving this new summery strapless dress that is available at Curvety.com.
This style is perfect for a summer wedding or some similar occasion which requires a knock em dead outfit. It comes in sizes 16 to 26 and features the most beautiful bold flower print in black and yellow. Plus Size Summer Essentials
As the eternal optimist that I am, I'm going to take yesterday's beautiful weather as a sign of things to come (and ignore the snow of the weekend!!!).
I think it is high time to plan our Summer wardrobes. Lots of people will have their summer holidays booked and be dreaming of bathing in the sun, lying by the pool or sipping cocktails on the beach! To finish off this dreamy image you just need the perfect beach to bar outfit.
I love this halter dress which is perfect to throw over your costume and wonder round town, or head out for lunch. It is so soft and comfortable whilst still having a lovely fashion edge - a real holiday essential.

The Proposal
After 11 years together my partner finally proposed last week. After I had picked my jaw up from the floor, and spent numerous hours staring at my new sparkly diamond ring, my thoughts, as always, turned to fashion.
If anyone else is planning on getting married in the near future here are my first finds for the perfect plus size wedding dress.
The hot trend in wedding dresses this season seems to be shorter. Now this is a brave step for some, to shun the traditional floor length gown in favour of a mid length dress, but for me it's perfect. At only 5ft 2' I always feel more comfortable in a mid length dress which doesn't swamp me. Plus it gives me the chance to show off my legs which, as a standard apple shape, are my best feature. My favourite find so far is this shimmering halter dress, which comes with the most beautiful buckled shawl to cover upper arms.
If you prefer something more traditional then this Long beaded dress is absolutely stunning for a Spring/Summer wedding.
Both of the above styles are ideally suited to a more intimate affair but with the growing choice in formalwear in plus sizes there are many more structured gowns available. I will update you when I have a handful of favourites!
