From Mexico With Love

Theatre.

The life here is starting to seem a bit dull. I haven’t had much to tell recently. I have rented films and done homework, including an essay that took me nearly a full day to do. As I am more or less used to living in Mexico the cultural differences no longer seem strange to me so I don’t have as many stories about that kind of thing.

During this semester I have been taking theatre classes at the TEC, this is fun but difficult at the same time as I have to act in a foreign language at the side of native speakers. In spite of this its great fun and if I manage to act well in the play that we are going to put on I will consider it a great achievement. I read that the actor who plays the Fauno in “Pan’s labyrinth” is an American who doesn’t speak a word of Spanish. His seemed like a good performance to me. This gives me hope that I may be able to do the same when it’s my turn to do so.

I still want to make more films or short films in Mexico however every time that I think of something, I end up changing my mind and I decide that it wouldn’t make a good picture. Apart from this I don’t find time to write, although I do have a notebook that is filling up with scenes and jokes. It’s almost certain that I will make something, the question is that of its quality.

No he tenido mucho que contar recientemente.

Cheeky bastard!!!! Who said that? The reason I'm bothered is cause I need a good mark for my course. Cos AVM always drags my results down cos the lecturers think my films are shit. And it's really annoying how I do well in Spanish but my AVM makes me look crap. Like I got like a low 2.2 in AVM and im on my way to a high 2.1 or a first in Spanish. My point is I shouldnt let a crap film drag me down into a crap degree.
