There could be a spell of compensation claims by residents whose lives have been shattered by Chorley’s newest bypass, council chiefs have been warned. Residents who believe their lives were adversely affected by the bypass can now apply for compensation as the first anniversary of the opening of the 1.4km road. Payouts would vary, but it would be based on a percentage of the value of the house – usually between two and five per cent. Reports said each household with a property worth £200,000 whose case succeeds could be paid compensation of between £4,000 and £10,000. With a road that 1.4km long-there’s going to be a lot of claims made! Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 51 of 81 } { Next Page } |
