It is possibly the best bit of good news since the recession has struck, but it has been revealed that the number of people killed on UK roads has reached a record low this year. This is great news for local councils who were worrying about fighting accident claims and compensation amid the financial downturn. A study conducted by the government revealed that there were 2,538 people killed on Britain’s roads in 2008, which is the lowest yearly rate since records began in 1926. This is a 14% drop since 2007. The news is especially surprising as half of Britain’s A-roads failed to be rated as safe in a European survey. It was found that 58% of UK roads were rated as neutral or poor! Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 43 of 81 } { Next Page } |
